Welcome to the new Peterhead School website. My name is Martin Genet and I am very proud to be the principal of Peterhead School for six years. The school and its learning community is stunning and it is indeed an honour to be leading such an outstanding school.

Peterhead School is a U6, Decile 1, full primary school with a fantastic blend of cultures that represent a cross section of New Zealand. Our Board of Trustees, along with a hugely dedicated staff strive to provide an exciting, quality education in order for children to reach their fullest potential.

Peterhead Opportunities

Peterhead offers opportunities that are second to none in all facets of education (academic, sporting and cultural) the school has an outstanding reputation of ‘making a difference’ to childrens learning and this alone gives the school an edge or point of difference, we are one of very few full primary schools that offer specialist kapa haka, music and computer teachers.

In 2009 a Sports Academy was introduced along with in 2010 a Boys and Girls only class at  Y 5/6 level.  The school is ‘technologically very rich’ with students having huge exposure to cutting edge interactive whiteboard and computer technology which is a feature in classrooms.

All of these initiatives have proven to be highly successful and are indicators of the innovative and progressive nature of our school.

Our school embraces its core values represented by our ‘three kete of learning -Whanuangatanga, Maramatanga, Manaakitanga' (family, learning, caring for others ) with high behavioural and academic expectations existing for all students.  High quality resources are a feature in our classrooms and are well targeted linking to the strategic vision and direction of our successful learning environment.

The school is all about our children and a place where parents are encouraged to be part of the school and their child's learning.
